Position Summary
We are seeking a mission-oriented, entrepreneurial Director of Marketing to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that enhance Asbury Seminary’s visibility, enrollment, and brand identity. This is a newly restructured role, offering the opportunity to shape a growing department and build national awrness
Attracting Mission-Aligned Students
By developing and executing targeted marketing and enrollment strategies, this role ensures that prospective students who are called to ministry and share the seminary’s Christian values are reached and inspired to apply.
Sharing the Seminary’s Story Globally
Through compelling storytelling, digital campaigns, and media outreach, this role amplifies the seminary’s unique spiritual and educational vision to a broader audience. By highlighting faculty, alumni, and student impact, the seminary’s message of Christ-centered education and Wesleyan tradition reaches churches, communities, and potential partners worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute a holistic marketing strategy aligned with Asbury’s mission and enrollment goal, partnering closely with admissions and enrollment management. - Brand Stewardship:
Promote and protect Asbury’s brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and communications. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with digital, web, and social media teams, as well as other departments, to deliver integrated campaigns and support recruitment initiatives. - Digital & Enrollment Marketing:
Oversee SEO/SEM, digital advertising, and multi-channel campaigns to drive student inquiries and applications. - Website & User Experience:
Ensure the seminary’s website is optimized for usability, accessibility, and lead generation. - Social Media & Content:
Lead a dynamic content and social media strategy; highlight student stories, faculty insights, and ministry impact. - Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a small, collaborative team; foster a culture of servant leadership and professional growth. - Performance Analytics:
Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze campaign effectiveness, and manage the marketing budget for maximum impact.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Significant experience in marketing, enrollment, or nonprofit sectors (Christian higher education or nonprofit experience strongly valued).
Technical & Leadership Skills:
- Proficiency with WordPress, Slate CRM, social media, and digital marketing best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
